A Prosthodontist Improves Your Smile

A Prosthodontist is a specialist who is skilled in the construction of artificial devices designed to replace missing teeth and other parts of the oral cavity of the face.

The training

After completing and graduating from Dental School, the training consists of 3 more years of rigorous studies in head and neck anatomy, materials science, esthetic, and occlusion (bite).

Maxillofacial-Prosthetics is a sub-specialty of Prosthodontics and requires 1 more year of training. Prosthodontist treats patients who have acquired a congenital defect of the head and neck region due to surgery, trauma, or birth defect.

Artificial eyes, ears and maxillary obturators are commonly planned and fabricated by them.
