A toothache is a sign that there may be more to worry about
than just a little pain. To be on the safe side, you need
to have a consultation with your Dental Care Provider
immediately. Waiting until the pain subsides is not the correct
thing to do.
The causes of toothache are:
- Dental cavities
- A cracked tooth
- Exposed tooth root
- Gum disease
- Disease of the jaw joint
- Spasms of the muscles used for chewing
- Teeth grinding
All of those causes are Dental Disorders and are usually a mask
for an underlying problem which may be worse.
Remember, your dentist has been trained to identify all tooth
diseases. Only he can give you the correct diagnosis and
treat that condition.
Here are some preventions that works
- Brush between meals or twice a day
- Use toothpaste that contains fluoride
- Use a tongue cleaner if you smoke
- Use mouthwash that are recommended for Dental Care
- Visit your Dental Provider regularly every 6 months
- Do not smoke
- Do not use illegal drugs, they too can cause tooth and gum problems
This is all common sense, and by following the majority of these preventions you
will have clean, healthy and pain free teeth for the rest of your life. No more toothache.
